PURSUE THE EVERYDAY THINGS

Hello.
You may have noticed that I've been kind of AWOL as of late. I would love to say it's for some unusual and exciting reasons but boringly I've simply been a tad preoccupied with life.
As some of you already know, Andy lost his job a while back and in all honesty it has been a tough time for us but as a wise blonde haired, huge busted lady once said;
"Storms make trees take deeper roots."

As pretty darn rubbish as the stresses during this time have been, I have taken the recent life change as an opportunity to take a long hard look at things, including our finances and how we want our life to be. The past few months have been a stark wake up call which will hopefully evoke positive changes, so I guess Dolly was right.
Fortunately, after numerous months of hunting through vacancies, countless long winded applications and several tedious interviews, the clever boy has only gone and landed himself a new job. Three cheers for Andy!
He has been working away Sunday-Friday for three weeks now and after too many several months of him being around all the time, adjusting to him hardly being around at all has occasionally been a challenge but I think we may now be back into the swing of 'normality' and I'm rather quite enjoying some rediscovered 'Mummy and Izzie time'.
As nice as it was to spend time with Andy and for him to have the opportunity to enjoy the 'everyday' things that many working parents miss out on (potty training, toddler tantrums, messy meal times), without meaning to sound selfish, it's been nice to have those times and Isobel all for myself again. Although she has often driven me to the brink of insanity made me a little stressed, it's been so good to have the chance to enjoy her and all her quirks.

There have been a fair few low points during this adjustment period (hearing the three fatal words, "I want Daddy" every time I said no, potty training and it's unhygienic wonders, trying to calmly negotiate a screaming pile of toddler to get off the floor in Tesco / a friends kitchen floor / the pavement, just to name some) but the high points we've had and the time with my not so little any more bundle of silliness certainly has made up for all of that.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Ours will be spent with Daddy so I'm sure we certainly will.

Jade x
